Alya Al MazrouiAlya Saeed Al Mazroui is the Director of the UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science. In this role, she leads a team responsible for managing an international competition promoting the UAE’s engagement and capacity-building in the field of weather modification, particularly in the development of scientifically advanced technology for Rain Enhancement. She has managed a number of Meteorological Courses certified by the World Meteorological Organization through a cooperative agreement with the UK Meteorological Office. Alya graduated as a Bachelor of Business Science from Zayed University, Abu Dhabi in 2002.

Dr. Youssef WehbeDr. Youssef Wehbe is the Chief Science Officer for the UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science. His main role consists of program management and oversight by spearheading the monitoring and evaluation mechanism for awarded projects. He advises on intellectual property management, techno-economic assessments and technology readiness considerations for transitioning research outcomes toward operational testing and integration - supporting the program’s overall science mission and roadmap. Youssef holds a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Notre Dame University, a M.S. in Water and Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – Masdar Institute Collaborative Program, and a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Khalifa University Dr. Wehbe led and contributed to a number of research studies and peer-reviewed publications on next-generation water resource monitoring by integrating satellite and radar remote sensing, hydro-meteorological modeling, and relevant applications of AI/machine learning tools. His areas of expertise include water resource management, coupled land-atmosphere modeling, cloud microphysics, and weather modification technology.

Siddharth TampiSiddharth Tampi is a Senior Rain Science Researcher for the UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science. Responsible for liaising with Program awardees based outside the UAE, Siddharth assists with the operation and maintenance of awardees’ field research stations in the UAE and organization of awardees’ research experiments or operations in the UAE. Siddharth has a strong background in sustainability in building design and operations, managing operations and field work in the UAE, and supporting UAEREP operations. In addition, he has two years’ experience as a research engineer at Masdar Institute, Khalifa University while pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. |

Hamda AlhosaniShe is an Aerospace Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree from Khalifa University. She currently serves as a Researcher and Program Officer at the National Center of Meteorology, contributing to the UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP). In this role, she leads workshops to refine research proposals and conducts advanced research on cloud seeding technologies. Previously, Hamda worked as an Aviation Workshop Engineer at Applied Technology High School, managing aviation operations and overseeing capstone projects. Her internship experience includes a role at AR’S Japan Company, where she developed algorithms for facial detection. |
