The UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP) is equipped with advanced facilities and infrastructure to support groundbreaking research in meteorology and water security. These resources enable the program to foster innovation, refine scientific methodologies, and address critical environmental challenges. Through its commitment to state-of-the-art research capabilities, UAEREP continues to drive progress in rainfall enhancement and climate resilience on a global scale.
Ground generator flares are used to seed clouds located in a mountainous area. By taking advantage of the topography and local circulation, flares introduce hygroscopic seeding materials into orographic clouds to accelerate the collision and coalescence process within the clouds, thereby increasing the cloud’s rainfall amount. The NCM as up to several hundred ground generator flares each year depending on meteorological conditions.
