UAEREP Participates in the 2nd International Conference on Water Resources Management & Sustainability: Solutions for Arid Regions
UAEREP wrapped up their February with a successful trip up the road to Dubai, participating in yet another productive event surrounding water security. UAEREP representatives attended the 2nd International Conference on Water Resources Management & Sustainability: Solutions for Arid Regions, lasting from 26 through 28 February at the Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf in Dubai.
As part of its overarching mission, UAEREP attended the event as a means to further foster capacity building initiatives within the research community, ensuring sustained progress and knowledge exchange in the field of rain enhancement science while collaborating with local and international universities and research centres. The event additionally provided UAEREP the opportunity to share and discuss the latest developments in rain enhancement research and technology, positioning themselves at the forefront of water security.
This conference was organized to address the critical importance of water resources availability for the future of economies, communities, and the environment in arid and semiarid regions, as well as to discuss global water issues and address future water and environmental challenges. These issues are critical to UAEREP, and we were proud to be part of the discussions that could bolser rain enhancement science research and benefit the cloud seeding operations taking place across the UAE.
Following a previous conference held in 2022 that boasted participants from 57 countries, 214 total paper submissions, 23 technical sessions, and 9 keynote sessions, the National Water and Energy Center and the UAE University organized a second international conference to explore the global water issues and address future challenges.
The event brought together international experts working in industry, academia, and government to share expertise, form partnerships, and discover solutions in the field of water resource management. With the participation of international water scientists, engineers, experts, academics, policy makers, and industry members, UAEREP was thrilled to be part of such an important endavor to build international collaboration and have open discussion on water scarcity and its solutions.
